This year's 2016 Spring Harvest Iron Goddess Tie Guan Yin *Thousand Fragrance*, is a true high mountain tea grown from the tea garden terraces of Anxi, Fujian. This is our highest quality of this particular style of Iron Goddess Tie Guan Yin tea, which is the "Qing Xiang" varietal, or literally translated in English as "Light Fragrance" or "Pure Fragrance", which usually indicates the greener varietal of Tie Guan Yin.

Again, since we personally travel and select the best from Anxi, you're definitely going to be impressed by this beautiful tea! First of all, the tea leaves are fresh and vibrant, with stems all hand removed. Being different in both the taste and aroma from our "Sour Fragrance" style, the "Thousand Fragrance" style has a lot brighter and fruitier aroma and flavor, followed with an excellent, soft yet complex "hui gan" (回甘), which means that complex and lingering aftertaste you get from awesome teas!

The aroma might even remind you of sweet peaches, or osmanthus flowers, or something very apricot-like and citrusy. The complex tea broth on the other hand, is very fragrant, clean, and rounded, with again a very remarkable finish!

We recommend using Chinese Yixing (purple clay) or porcelain tea ware. Rinse tea cup and teapot with hot water. Fill the teapot 1/4 to 1/3 full with tea leaves, or 2 grams of tea leaves for every 150ml of water if you are not using Yixing teapot. Steep tea leaves in hot water at 100°c (212°F) for 1 minute for the first and second brewing. Gradually increase steeping time for subsequent brewing.
